Few things at once
We keep the list of active projects short and finish what’s on it.
Studio
Formwork Studios LLC designs and builds native software for Apple platforms. Nothing gets outsourced, and there’s no plan to grow into something bigger.
The name
In construction, formwork is the temporary mould that wet concrete gets poured into. It’s stripped off and thrown away once the concrete cures, so it never turns up in a photograph of the finished building. Every edge, radius and surface of that building was decided by it anyway.
You can’t sand a bad pour smooth. If the formwork was wrong the structure is wrong, and the only honest fix is to break it out and start again.
That’s about the closest analogy we’ve found for building software. The data model, the state handling, the calls made in week one. Nobody using the app ever sees them, and they decide how it feels. Our mark is eight form panels braced in a pinwheel around the space they shape.
How we work
We keep the list of active projects short and finish what’s on it.
There’s no account manager sitting between you and the people writing the code, and we don’t hand work off to anyone else.
Written scope, written assumptions, and an early heads-up when something turns out harder than it looked.
No tracking SDKs and no engagement mechanics. If a feature only helps us, it doesn’t ship.
